The studio, warehouse, and offices all have an industrial “look.” The offices feature a minimalist design, consisting of concrete and glass. The building is equipped with a 150 m³ underground rainwater storage tank. This water is treated and used for various purposes, including the production process for manufacturing printing plates (±50 L/plate; an average of 200 printing plates are produced per day). After the 0.5 percent by volume “gel” is removed, this used water is discharged back into the buffer tank. The water from the buffer tank is also used, after osmosis treatment, to dilute the printing inks in the printing process. A final and not insignificant use for the buffered rainwater is flushing the 20 toilets and urinals in the building. In the new printing plant, this results in a savings of approximately 1,150 liters per day—a volume that, in the old printing plant, was supplied by municipal water and immediately discharged.
