Bicycle parking Hove
The new bicycle parking facility is part of the complete redevelopment of the station area on the Kasteelstraat side of Hove. There is also a connection to the provincial bicycle connection between Antwerp and Kontich. Upon completion, the new bicycle parking facility will have a capacity of 298 spaces with expansion possibilities to a total of 346 spaces. The upper level connects to Kasteelstraat and the pedestrian bridge over the tracks. The concrete floor slab of the upper level extends above the lower level that connects to the roadway of the new parking lot and the through bicycle path. Both levels are connected by two concrete stairs on both sides of the bicycle parking. The roof consists of three parts, supported by a steel structure and covered with profiled steel plates. The various rainwater drains are fully integrated into the round columns on the Kasteelstraat side. The stairs and the retaining walls around these stairs are made of exposed concrete. The retaining wall behind the lower level is covered with gabions filled with large crushed stones. Both the bicycle racks and the parapets will be made of galvanized steel.
