Hylitt Hotel
The hotel Hyllit, on the corner of De Keyserlei and Appelmansstraat, in the center of Antwerp, is a well-known element in the streetscape. The hotel stands out because of the architectural corner accent and the façade surfaces with oblique glazing, interrupted by vertical bands of natural stone (white carrara), something the client aimed to profile his hotel with shopping arcade as an attraction.
Phase 3 of the project involves the expansion of the property previously built by Ryckaerts&Partners
designed and built Hotel Hyllit, on the corner of De Keyserlei and Appelmansstraat in the center of Antwerp near the central station. The new extension will replace the five residential units along Quellinstraat. In order to respect the character of the street, an architectural filling was chosen in three building volumes of different width and height. The connection to the previously built part of the hotel is on three levels: basement, ground floor and mezzanine. An interior garden and roof gardens provide greenery between the main buildings.
